What once started as a kind of fair on the little island in the port of Antwerp has now grown into a fully-fledged event. At De Open Scheepvaartdagen (an initiative of Het Rijn – en Binnenvaartmuseum), everyone from the inland shipping sector can find out more about maintenance, technology, ship repair, new construction, interior design, new regulations, training, employment and much more. A unique opportunity to network and make new contacts.
De Open Scheepvaartdagen will take place in the Waagnatie; one of the iconic old port depots, located next to the river Scheldt, 700m away from the old city centre and centrally located in the hip neighbourhood called 'Het Eilandje'. This building is an inseparable part of the rich maritime history of this old port area, making it the unique location for De Open Scheepvaartdagen.
